What is your favorite color? Purple!

What sound do you love? My niece & nephew giggling, Stephen saying “frog,” and brewing coffee..

What Album and/or Band changed your life? I don’t know if it “changed my life,” but I would have to say “Fearless” by Taylor Swift because she’s amazing. She doesn’t know it yet, but we’re pretty much best friends.

Do you have a special talent? I don’t. I’m “okay” at a bunch of things, but not GREAT at anything in particular… I’m still waiting to find it.

If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? I haven’t been an age yet that I’d like to stay at forever. I feel like I’m smarter and way cooler (& more humble) than I used to be, but still sort of act like a kid even though I’m getting old. I’ll keep you posted.

What is your first memory of being really excited? Anyone who knows me well knows that my memory stinks. One super exciting memory I have is when my family began the adoption process when I was in about 3rd grade because I had ALWAYS begged my mom and dad to have another baby and was finally going to become a big sister.

Which one fashion accessory do you like better than others? This is a VERY hard question for me, but since I have to pick I would probably say earrings.

Favorite walk in love. item to wear: (and why?) This question is even harder than the last one. Can I say everything? I have an entire drawer filled with just wil. shirts, but currently, I’d choose the “Today is the Day” tank top because it’s super bright & really inspiring.

I remember the day I messaged Chelsea on Facebook asking if she’d be in an upcoming photoshoot for walk in love. She graciously wrote back and said she’d love to – and within a few days she was at my house prepping for photos with Gabby and I. It was beautiful outside the evening I first shot Chelsea (with the white hoodie and gorgeous sunlight)… and as soon as I fired off my first shot, I turned to Gabby and said, “Uhm, we’re using Chelsea for every photo shoot from now on.” She’s just got one of those easy to photograph, girl-next-door looks to her – and I love it! And of course, she’s delightful to be around. I absolutely love when someone I photograph becomes a friend, and Chelsea has become just that.

Do you like your handwriting? No – everyday its different ..one day is complete chicken scratch and the next I might try really hard to make it nice.

Favorite walk in love. item to wear: (and why?) My closet keeps expanding with walk in love shirts, but i’d have to say..the shirt that says, “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power“. My friends bet on me wearing one everytime they see me, but that doesn’t stop me from wearing walk in love!

My first memory of Gio was when she was probably like 6 years old. I was at my brother’s swim meet and was of the timers (which made me feel super cool, by the way) and Gio was in “my lane”. I remember cheering her on, watching her swim summer after summer. She was a talented and beautiful little girl. And she’s nothing short of those two things today, talented and beautiful that is! I love having Gio be part of our shoots – her smile is just gorgeous! And don’t forget about that hair!

I first met Lydia this past summer when I shot her senior photos. Her older sister, Chelsea, has been in photos for us before and she’s super lovely – so I couldn’t wait to shoot Lydia!! Not long after her senior session, I asked her to be in our Live Loud lookbook and she was great. She smiles a lot and is downright beautiful. I have no doubt that she’ll go far in life.

Are you currently in school? If so, where and why? Yeah. Hempfield Highschool … because I gotta graduate!
One word that describes you: Curious.
Would you bungee jump? As I answer the question, DEFINITELY YES. But, when the time came to do it I would probably pass out.
What album and or band changed your life? Okay, this is embarassing but, the Jonas Brothers! They were the first legit concert I ever went to – and I totally fell head over heels for Joe! Hahah…
What color shoes are you wearing right now? None. I only wear shoes when I have to.
Were you named after anyone? Actually, yes! Lydia is from the bible and my middle name is Mae after my Great Grandma.
Favorite walk in love. item to wear – and why? I am in love with all of the tees. Between my sister and I, we proabably have every single shirt! But, if I had to choose my favorite design is “Love Is” tee. It’s so easy to throw on with a pair of jeans.. and it makes for such a cute outfit.

Drew was one of those people that I saw all over the place, had lots of mutual friends in common with, but had never officially met before. I’d seen him drum at Saturate, knew he went to high school with some of my friends, and HECK! I’d even emailed him about being in photos long before we were friends. I knew within several minutes of meeting Drew at our employee interview party that we were going to hire him. He’s one of the most genuine people I know. He’s incredibly honest, but not in the rude kinda way. In the good way, that makes you actually want to have a conversation with him. T.J. and I blessed to call him friend, and love having Drew as both an employee and one of our models!

What is your favorite color? Green
What’s the longest car trip you’ve ever taken? My family drove to Prince Edward Island in Canada one summer, which was 25+ hours each way. Other than that, I’ve been to Florida and Wisconsin in a car. Yikes, that’s a lot of driving and books on tape.
What Album and/or Band changed your life? Relient K’s album “Mmhmm” is probably my all time favorite, and was the first album that really cause me to “break” out of a stereotypical musical lull in my middle school years. It has also drastically influenced my personal playing style on the drums and as a musician. My top four bands would have to be: Relient K, Switchfoot, MuteMath and Coldplay.
All time favorite movie? Ace Ventura – When Nature Calls
Can you change a tire? Apparently I can’t, because my last flat tire required some help from a stranger. But I think I’ve got the hang of it now.
Favorite walk in love. item to wear: (and why?) Definitely the 50/50 Big Walk T-Shirts. They’re the most comfortable shirt to wear anytime, anywhere, and the the design is really clean. With the added new colors recently, the shirt comes alive even more!

I’m kicking off round two of our Meet The Faces series with the ever adorable Nicole. I’d never met Nicole prior to shooting with her for the first time, which was a little over a year ago. I had asked my brother if he knew any red-heads, since I did not, and he suggested Nicole. Naturally I stalked her on Facebook for a day or two before writing her a message asking her to be in some of our photos. Nicole came to my house for our first photo session and the second she walked through my door I knew we’d be friends.

Nicole is smart. Like, currently doing some sort of schooling in England smart. It’s so wonderful to have her along on shoots because she keeps the conversation going and is incredibly encouraging to everyone around her. In fact, I’d like her to come back from England so I can shoot her all the time! You hear that Nicole? Come home. I know we don’t have charming accents or Prince Harry, but I can give you super-fun Smilebooth parties and free t-shirts.

Are you currently in school? If so, where and why? As a matter a fact, I am. Currently, I am studying for my Masters degree in England at the University of Bristol. Eep!!
One word that describes you: Impossible. Not me, this question.
Coffee or Tea? In the morning, coffee. At night, tea.
What is your favorite color? Orange
What Album and/or Band changed your life? Oh dear. This question is terrible – like when an Oscar nominee tries to thank everyone that supported their success…someone always gets left out. PASS. (If Michael Buble wanted to spend forever singing to me, I’d be content.)
Do you have a special talent? You know those people who are pretty good at a wide array of things, but not really spectacular at any one thing…yea, that’s me.
Which one fashion accessory do you like better than others? Does footwear count? I’m not so into accessories, but this girl has a serious shoe crush.
Favorite walk in love. item to wear. Why? I really love my womens-fit blank tees, they are suuuper soft. But when I return stateside, I would like to get my hands on something with sleeves (WIL sweatshirt perhaps?).

So, as of today, I’m starting a new blog series featuring some of my favorite models to work with. T.J. and I make an effort to photograph friends and family for our lookbooks and promo, instead of searching out “models” from a company or creepy online site. It’s much more fun for me to shoot people I know and love and helps to produce the kind of images I want.

Besides immediate family, Aaron was one of the first people I asked to be in some photos for walk in love. Aaron has known T.J. for quite some time and I remember meeting Aaron several years ago, for the first time, at Purple Door. I said to T.J. “Hey! There’s a kid over there with a walk in love. shirt on. Cool!” Little did I know it was Aaron, and that he’d be a part of walk in love.’s photo sessions and joining us for Ugly Christmas Sweater parties at our house.

Aaron is great to work with. He’s incredibly happy and never gives me that you-want-me-to-do-what!?! look when I instruct him for photo ideas. The best models are the ones who listen to the photographer’s instructions and trust that we (the photographers) aren’t going to make them look like total weirdos, but instead, will make them look awesome.
